I know the absolute, crushing weight that you live under when you’re not able to Accept Yourself. I’ve lived under that weight for most of my life.
The weight, for me, was the constant deep rooted feeling of rejection. I carried this weight while at the same time constantly pushing myself to prove I was worthy of love and acceptance of others. But I will be honest with you Queen, the weight only began to lift when I started to accept myself. The release was so liberating, it’s hard to put into words how it felt.
I’m not here trying to tell you that I’ve mastered the art of Self-Acceptance. Like you, I very much consider myself a work in progress and self-acceptance is a continual journey. Living a life of intention brings you into regular learning experiences and with each lesson comes growth. There’s more of yourself to know and accept. I wake up every day and set the tone for myself, by reciting a mantra I created for myself that reminds me that I am worthy of my Self-Acceptance. You heard that right, it’s something I do every single day. I like to think of it a bit like exercising – once you’ve hit your fitness goals, you need to maintain that level of fitness by keeping up the exercise.
My daily routines, my mindset, and my habits support a healthy internal environment that allows me to channel kindness to who I am. The moments where I have a slip into self-judgment, I use the tools that I have acquired and created to quickly eliminate negative thoughts or feelings and set my head straight.
I had given you a few of those tools in my two blogs Yes, Your Warts & All! And This is How You Fix Your Crown!, and believe me when I tell you that they are effective, as simple as they sound. I am telling you that just by listing your qualities, good and bad, creating a mantra that speaks to your soulful needs, and then embracing those things that you reject about yourself, you too can create for yourself a more positive internal environment that will support you.

Jokes aside, if you haven’t watched it, I would recommend you get on it ASAP. The series will talk you through the inner workings of Self Acceptance, and how to shift your thinking. Queen, I do know that some things are harder to accept than others, which is why this is a journey. But take it in steps, remember, small steps=success and create momentum that will keep you going. Stay patient with yourself, and be persistent. You are worth the work.
